White Water Rafting down the Zambezi River
Whitewater rafting at its best: join the thrill of rafting down the Zambezi from Victoria Falls with Enock and his team from Maano Adventures, the only locally owned rafting company in Livingstone.
One of the best rafting rivers in the world
The Zambezi, with Class IV and V rapids, is amongst the most thrilling whitewater experiences found anywhere on the planet. By the end of the day you’ll discover you have conquered rapids like the Washing Machine, The Terminator, The Ugly Sisters or The Stairway to Heaven. Most rafting trips start at the Victoria Falls, for those who want to go a bit easier, we start at rapid number 10, some 10 km down the Zambezi. If you have more time to spare you can join the overnight or multi day rafting tours.
and his Maano Adventures Team
We are the only locally owned and operated Rafting Company in Zambia.
Enock started out 18 years ago as a rafting guide on the Zambezi River for one of the tour companies. In 2016 he started by own company and now has a team of 17 enthousiasts offering rafting adventures on the river. All of them have 10 year plus experience as a rafting guides.
Safety, thrills, fun and memories
You can join the fun if you are 15 years or over and are able to swim. No prior rafting experience is required. We start out at Victoria Falls with a safety briefing that will take as long as you need. And we are not going to rush you into anything (we are African!): we want you to fully enjoy your whitewater experience and the amazing scenery. One guide pilots the boat, a guide on a kayak is there to help should you go into the water. A photographer captures the thrills on photo and video (included).
Drifts, Safaris and Tours
If you want to go easy on the river, you can do a raft drift, too. You will float on the upper Zambezi, just above the Victoria Falls. All that’s expected from you is to relax and sip your drink. You will experience the impressive scenery surrounding the Zambezi River with a chance of spotting wild animals.
Mois Oa Tunya National Park and Chobe
We can take you out into the Mosi Oa Tunya National Park for wildlife spotting or a for a day trip into Chobe, just across the border in Botswana, where you are guaranteed to encounter wildlife especially waterbuck, elephant and buffalo. With luck on your side, you might see elephants crossing the river and lions coming to drink. There are abundant species of birds for bird lovers.
Of course you will go and see the Victoria Falls while in Livingstone. We will collect you from your lodge or hotel and you will typically be at the falls for two hours. Seeing the falls from both sides (Zambia and Zimbabwe) is also an option, provided you have a multi entry Kaza visa.
